Michael Houser has signed a contract with the Ontario Reign, the AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings.
After splitting time between the ECHL and AHL during his first two years of pro hockey, Houser spent his entire third season in the AHL, posting a 19-9-4 record in 37 games with the San Antonio Rampage.
The goaltender spent three seasons with the London Knights, backstopping them to an OHL Championship in 2012. It capped off a very special year for Houser, who had a 2.47 GAA and .925 save percentage in 62 regular games with London, winning 46 of those contests. Not bad for a 68 game OHL schedule.
Houser was the 2012 OHL Goaltender of the year, as well as the Red Tilson Trophy winner for the OHL’s most outstanding player.
He was just the fifth goalie to win the Red Tilson, following Andrew Raycroft (Kingston-2000), Bill Harrington (Kitchener-1952), Glenn Hall (Windsor-1951), and Gil Mayer (Barrie-1949).
