Trevor Murphy has signed a three-year entry level contract with the Nashville Predators.
Preds GM David Poile made the announcement Thursday morning that the 20-year-old Windsor native wont be back with his junior club.
Murphy was penciled in to return for his over age year, and potentially be one of the league’s top defenceman.
Murphy signs the contract after a breakout offensive season last year that saw him score 24 goals and 63 points in 59 games with the Spitfires.
It was his fourth season in the OHL after spending time with the Peterborough Petes.
