AOHL This Week

Around The OHL This Week (September 29)

Week 1 Power Rankings:

  1. Barrie ColtsVery strong goaltending with and an offense that will score more than its fair share
  2. London Knights – Marner and Dvorak returning adds to an already dangerous offence
  3. Erie OttersA lot of pieces returning, scoring goals shouldn’t be an issue
  4. Niagara Ice Dogs – One of the league’s best Defense should get enough offense to contend
  5. Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds – Support guys from last season should have no issue in the lead role
  6. Oshawa Generals – The return of Dal Colle makes the Generals an instant threat in the East
  7. Owen Sound Attack – McNiven will be called upon heavily, Cianfrone provides that offensive punch
  8. Flint Firebirds – Great start for Firebirds and goalie Zack Bowman, there’s plenty of potential in Flint
  9. Peterborough Petes – A 2-0 start to the 60th season in franchise history impressive in an East Division up for grabs
  10. Kingston Frontenacs – Watson poised for big season, Perissini is the defending OHL Goalie of the Year
  11. Mississauga SteelheadsA young core in Mississauga leads the way, OA Jack Flinn holding the fort in net
  12. Sarnia Sting – Jakob Chychrun leading a young team in Sarnia with plenty of potential this season
  13. Windsor Spitfires – Another young team in the West Division that will be much better this season
  14. Hamilton Bulldogs – A move to Hamilton could spark a team in transition
  15. Kitchener RangersShould be good again defensively, will need to score more than last year though
  16. Ottawa 67’sits early but being outscored 16-4 in a 0-3 weekend is enough to raise some question marks
  17. Saginaw Spirit – young team surprised last year, back to back losses to Flint doesn’t discredit teams potential this season
  18. North Bay BattalionA lot of pieces missing, and being outscored 9-1 through two games doesn’t help
  19. Sudbury WolvesYoung team that will likely be higher on this list by the end of the season
  20. Guelph Storm – Goaltending will keep Storm in games, need to find ways to score
