Week 7 Power Rankings:

  1. Kitchener Rangers (1) – Finally lost their first game in regulation, in their 17th game of the season
  2. Erie Otters (2) – Dominant weekend from Strome and DeBrincat has the high powered Otters rolling
  3. London Knights (3) – No surprise to see London beat up on the lowly Storm, their 86GF is tops in OHL
  4. Windsor Spitfires (4) – Big win vs. Erie, Logan Brown has 7pts in four games since returning from suspension
  5. Barrie Colts (5) – Top guys have been scoring and Blackwood continues to hold the fort in net
  6. Kingston Frontenacs (7) – Big win over 67’s has them in top spot in Eastern Conference
  7. Niagara IceDogs (11) – Things are starting to come together, ‘Dogs have won five straight, Ho-Sang has 15pts in eight games
  8. Sarnia Sting (8) – Strong goaltending from Nedeljkovic is the only reason Sarnia didn’t have a 3-0 weekend
  9. Ottawa 67’s (6) – Will likely battle with Kingston all season for East Division crown
  10. Owen Sound Attack (10) – Continuing their habit of playing close games, have performed well in tough Midwest
  11. Mississauga Steelheads (12) – Consistency remains an issue, not uncommon from a young team
  12. Oshawa Generals (9) – Tough way to finish the weekend with one goal losses to Saginaw and Flint
  13. Saginaw Spirit (16) -have won six of their last 10 games, starting to piece it together consistantly
  14. North Bay Battalion (14) – Bratina will be missed in North Bay
  15. Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (15) – Just three wins in last ten games, currently in final playoff spot with Flint close behind
  16. Peterborough Petes (13) – Three straight losses, Petes have only one win in their last 10 games
  17. Flint Firebirds (19) – Comeback win vs Oshawa overshadowed by drama off the ice
  18. Hamilton Bulldogs (17) – Losers of three straight, 68 goals against is 3rd most in East
  19. Sudbury Wolves (18) – Not scoring nearly enough for how much they’re allowing
  20. Guelph Storm (20) – Five game suspension for Justin Nichols is bad news for a team with just two wins

London @ Erie: No shortage of offensive firepower when these Midwest Division rivals meet up with 5 of the OHL’s top 8 scorers

Sunday November 15:
Erie @ Kitchener: Two top teams in the OHL face off for the first time this season
Peterborough @ Hamilton: two teams battling for the final playoff spot in the East

OHL notes:

  • Flint Firebirds fire re-hire coaching staff one day after firing them. Here’s the statement from owner Rolf Nilson.
  • OA forward Davis Brown returned to the Sarnia Sting
  • Hamilton trades Jake Bricknell to Guelph for an 8th round pick (2017), and 5th round pick (2018) – both are Barrie picks
  • North Bay’s Zach Bratina decides to retire after latest concussion, the OA forward had 12 goals in 12 games this season
  • Kitchener trades Mike Davies to Saginaw for the Spirit’s 2nd round pick (2018), 5th round pick (2018), and a conditional 5th round pick (2019)
  • Windsor puts OA goalie Michael Giugovaz on OHL waives and assigns Mario Culina to the Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL)
