The Kitchener Rangers have acquired overage defenceman Miles Liberati from the North Bay Battalion for a slew of draft picks.

The Battalion will receive Oshawa’s 2nd round pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, Oshawa’s 2nd round pick in 2018, Ottawa’s 8th round pick in 2017 and Kitchener’s 3rd round pick in 2019.

The move brings Liberati back to the Midwest Divison. Originally drafted by London, the Knights dealt him to North Bay in November of 2013 in exchange for Zach Bell. Liberati won an OHL championship with Knights the year before and participated in the 2013 Mastercard Memorial Cup in Saskatoon.

The Pennsylvania native has played 198 games with London and North Bay over four seasons in the OHL. Liberati helped lead the Battalion to the OHL Finals in 2014, and were finalist in the Easter Conference Championship last year.
