The Sarnia Sting have acquired Matt Mistele from the Oshawa Generals in exchange for a 2nd round pick in 2016, a 3rd round pick in 2017 and a 3rd round pick in 2018.
The Whitby native has scored 100 goals in 230 OHL games betwen Oshawa and Plymouth, including career high 34 with the Whalers in 2012-2013. He’s scored eight goals and added eight assists in 19 games with Oshawa this season.
Mistele won an OHL Championship and Memorial Cup Championship, leading the Generals with 13 goals in 21 playoff games.
The Sting’s offence has dried up a bit as of late, being held to a single goal in three of their last four games.
Mistele will likely make his Sting debut Friday at home against North Bay.
