London scores two third period goals and beats Flint 3-1 to win their third straight game.
The Knights would get on the board first with 4:38 remaining in the opening frame. Flint goalie Brent Moran made multiple saves before Christian Dvorak found Matthew Tkachuck backdoor for the Knights their only even strength goal of the evening.
While London had position in the Flint zone, Will Bitten stripped Chris Martenet at the point, earning a clear breakaway alone on Tyler Parsons. Bitten sniped the puck over Parsons’ shoulder to tie the score 1-1 7:22 into the second period.
The Knights would score the game-winning goal shorthanded when Moran denied Max Jones on a breakaway before Cliff Pu found the back of the net at 5:22 of the third period.
Pu was very grateful towards Jones following the goal…
London would increase their lead to two goals on a backdoor pass from Tkachuk to Marner who scored for his 23 goal of the season and the final tally of the night. Luke Kirwan and Keenan Reynolds both played in their first game in a Firebirds uniform on Friday night.
