Windsor increased their lead in the second period when Brendan Lemieux scored his 24th of the season, 15th since joining Windsor. Christian Fischer picked up his 22nd goal, a powerplay marker, to open up a 3-0 lead.

Flint would break Michael DiPietro‘s shutout bid 1:34 into the final frame, with Vili Saarijarvi scoring his seventh goal of the season to cut into Windsor’s lead. Mikhail Sergachev scored his 12th of the season from the blueline, wiring a shot by Flint goal Brent Moran to regain a two goal lead for the home team. Bradley Latour added some comfort with his 14th of the season with under three minutes to play in regulation.

Flint scored one more before the final buzzer but it was too little to late, Windsor would hang on for the 5-3 win on home ice.
