OHL sending 16 players to the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

The Canadian Hockey League has announced the 40-man roster for the annual CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

This year’s installment will be played January 25th, 2018 at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph.

Of the 16 OHLers invited, Oshawa leads the way with three invitees, while Ottawa, Mississauga, Guelph and Sault Ste. Marie each had two players invited.

A couple minor hockey connections in this game, as Ryan McLeod and Cody Clark won an OHL Cup with Toronto Marlboros in 2015. Akil Thomas, Allan McShane and Kevin Bahl played for the Marlboros Minor Midgets the following year.

McLeod, Clarke and Evan Bouchard are all born in 1999, but their late birthdays make them eligible for this year’s NHL draft. Out of the former OHL draft picks, Kody Clark was the the lowest selection. He was a 6th round pick of Ottawa’s in the 2015 OHL draft.
