OHL Player of the Week: Aaron Luchuk

Aaron Luchuk has continued his strong overage season, scoring nine points (three goals, six assists) in three games last week.

That effort was enough to be named the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending February 18th.

It’s the second time this season Luchuk has received the honour, but the first since joining the Colts in a December trade.

Following his two point effort Saturday against Niagara, Luchuk has points in 14 straight games.

The 20-year-old is playing in his fourth full season in the OHL after being selected int he fourth round by the Windsor Spitfires in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection. He played 236 career games with Windsor before joining the Colts in December.  In 26 games since joining Barrie, Luchuk has 15 goals and 28 assists for 43 points.

In December, the Ottawa Senators signed Luchuk to an Entry Level Contract.

Feb 14: 8-5 win vs Flint
1 goal, 2 assists
Feb 15: 5-4 OT win vs Windsor
1 goals, 3 assists, OT winner
Feb 17: 3-1 win vs Niagara
1 goal, 1 assist
