OHL Player of the Week: Jordan Kyrou

For the third time this season, Sarnia Sting captain Jordan Kyrou has been named the OHL player of the week.

With five goals and eight assists in four games last week, Kyrou led the entire league with 13 points.

He enjoyed three multi point games, including a four goal and three assist effort Sunday against Flint. That seven point game also tied a franchise record. Peter Sarno, Justin DiBenedetto and Charles Sarault have all previously picked up seven points in a single game while wearing a Sting jersey.

The St. Louis Blues drafted Kyrou in the second round of the 2016 NGL draft, he also helped Canada win gold at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo, leading his team in scoring.

Owen Sound forwards Kevin Hancock (5g 4a) and Nick Suzuki (2g 7a) were also in considerationf or the player of the week honours.

Also, Mississauga Steelheads netminder Emanuel Vella went a perfect 4-0-0-0 with a pair of shutouts, making a 124 saves.

Fri, Feb 23: 6-2 W vs Flint (4 assists)
Sat, Feb 24: 2-1 L vs Erie (no points)
Sun, Feb 25: 9-0 W vs Flint (4 goals 3 assists)
