BY THE NUMBERS: Barrie vs Mississauga

[2] Barrie (42-21-4-1) vs [7] Mississauga (33-32-1-2)

I’ve seen a lot of people suggest this could be the most likeliest upset of the first round. Despite finishing seventh, Mississauga as some of their top guys from last year’s team that made it to the OHL Final, while Barrie is still on the younger side after finishing dead last a season ago. Saying that, the Colts’ have made drastic improvements, and have arguably one of the best lines in the OHL with Andrei Svechnikov, Aaron Luchuk and Dmitry Sokolov. One plot twist in the series, Svechnikov is suspended for the first four games. On the Steelheads’ side, they will be without OA forward Mathieu Foget, who’s also suspended for four games. Foget has five goals and 12 points against Barrie this season. and Matchieu Foget wont be eligble to return until game five of the series, both received four games suspensions on the last day of the regular season. Also, only the Sudbury Wolves took more penalties than Barrie this season.
