Fronts and Sting answer back

Kingston 4 – Barrie 2 (BAR leads 2-1)

A pair of third period goals from Gabriel Vilardi were the difference as Kingston avoid a 3-0 series deficit against Barrie. 

Jakob Brahaney and Linus Nyman scored first period power play goals to open a lead for the Fronts before Andrei Svechnikov and Dmitry Sokolov scored power play goals of their own to even things up.

Jeremy Helvig made 28 saves for Kingston. Leo Lazarev turned aside 26, and also recorded an assist.

Game four of the series is Tuesday night in Kingston.


Sarnia 3 – Kitchener 2 OT (series tied 1-1)

The series will head back to Sarnia tied 1-1 thanks to Sean Josling’s overtime winner 10:10 into the extra period.

Riley Damiani made a nice move around Justin Fazio to open the scoring for Kitchener just ahead of the second period’s five minute mark. 

Franco Sproviero responded for Sarnia, tying the game up about five minutes later.

With just over 10 minutes left, Drake Rymsha scored the give the Sting the lead. Kole Sherwood’s seeign eye shot on the powerplay tied the game with just under nine minutes to go, forcing overtime.

Justin Fazio made 36 saves in the Sting net, while Maro Culina turned aside 32 for the Rangers.

Game three of the series is Tuesday night in Sarnia.
