One OHL trade deadline has passed, but the main event is still to come.

Thursday’s deadline to trade overagers saw a few 20-year-olds swap teams, although the deals were overshadowed by a pair of blockbuster trades from Niagara involving Akil Thomas and Philip Tomasino.

The London Knights shuffled around their OA’s this week, acquiring Markus Phillips from the Guelph Storm for draft picks.

On Thursday, they sent overage forward Josh Nelson and picks to Barrie for the Colts’ captain Jason Willms.

North Bay and Sudbury always exchanged overagers Thursday.

The Battalion sent captain Brad Chenier to Sudbury for Wolves’ co-captain Shane Bulitka.

Although some of these trades were announced after Thursday’s noon deadline, the paper work for the trades were completed in time.

The deadline for OHL teams to have their rosters finalized is noon Friday.
